Adani Power Revises Its Target Power Capacity

The Adani Group also proposed to acquire another one gigawatt of capacity. This is in addition to the company’s ongoing acquisition of Lanco Amarkantak Power and Coastal Energen, which have a combined capacity of 1.8 GW.

The 30+ GW power capacity is the second revision made by the Adani Group since May. With this increased power capacity, we will easily be able to meet our power demands. The power scarcity in our country will be reduced drastically. We will also be able to ensure that industrial activities can be carried out with full force. Adani Power’s current operating capacity is 15.25 GW. The company aimed to reach a power capacity of 21 GW. In May, the company revised this number and set a target of 24+ GW by 2030.

In June, a second revision was made, and the company finally decided to increase its power generation capacity to 30+ GW by 2030. This reflects the Adani Group’s increased focus on mitigating our power needs. With the steps taken, the business group will easily be able to take its business to new heights and set new benchmarks for itself in the power sector.

Currently, Adani Power is the largest private thermal power producer in India. It is on its path to double its operational capacity by 2030. As per the latest target of 30.67 GW, 25.87 GW will include operational and greenfield capacities. This would involve multiple potential acquisitions to be made in the power sector. The remaining 4.80 GW of the planned target will be made through brownfield opportunities. The company has already made some extraordinary acquisitions in the thermal power sector.
